Match Summary - DSW slay PTW |
DSW lined up against
bottom team PTW Wanderers full of confidence and aware
of the cunning PTW plan to score early and hang on.
Unfortunately the DSW
team were still in the season of goodwill and started
again slowly this time conceding within three minutes.
The first half was very even, DSW equalising when Andy
Dodd slotted home from fully twenty yards having waltzed
his way up the pitch before unleashing his shot into the
bottom corner. PTW responded quickly taking the lead
shortly after when Paul Richards palmed his save from a
strong PTW effort; PTW were the first to react to the
loose ball whilst DSW strolled back to defend. DSW and
PTW competed strongly for the rest of the half with Bob
Williams eventually equalising after good play between
Mark Watts and Adam Dow.
The second half was
very much a one way affair, DSW took the lead through
another fine effort from Mark, before PTW scored
spectacularly curling an effort into the top corner, 3
-3. The rest of the half was dominated by DSW with David
Dodd, Adam Dow and Mark Watts scoring again, after
consistent good football from all the team with Andy,
Bob and Neil James providing excellent defence and
support. Andy's play in the second half was clearly
affected by his very late spaghetti bolognese and a
beautiful pirouette midway in the second half secured
his Sugar Plum Fairy award.
The team continued to
press and in the dying seconds Adam Dow rounded off a
very good second half team performance with a screamer
having been put through by Mark Watts.
Man of the
Match
Mark Watts - strong performance,
high work rate, good link up play and two well taken
goals.
