It was a nice evening. The
team were confident....the game started competitively
with David Dodd showing the Bulgaria defence the art of
shoulder charging an off-balance opponent. So what went
wrong?
No idea.
After 5 minutes Bulgaria
hoofed a long ball upfield which was being comfortably
marshalled back to goal by Neil James, when Neil
inexplicably strolled into the area... no choice for the
referee... penalty and 1 - 0 to Bulgaria.
The game remained
competitive.. David Dodd struck the upright and dsw fc
got caught on the break ..no chance for Paul Richards 2
- o to Bulgaria. In the second half the game remained
close: a well worked move involving David Dodd, Adam Dow
and Bob Williams left Bob crashing the ball towards
goal: the wicked deflection deceived the keeper 2 - 1 to
Bulgaria. Game on.
dsw fc pressed forward but
frequently got caught out of position leaving the last
man frequently isolated, Bulgaria took advantage adding
goals three and four in the closing minutes.dsw fc
spurned their chances including an awful swipe by James
Dow from a corner by Mark Watts
dsw fc failed to keep the
ball, failed to keep enough men behind the ball and
missed their chances when they did arrive. On reflection
dsw fc got caught early and got caught out chasing the
game. a disappointing result which should mean another
mid table finish.
