dsw fc returned to their
old stomping ground of Broomfield's with some confidence
against the Dalai Llama's - being involved in two close
matches the season before last.
dsw fc were strengthened
by the presence of birthday boy Paul Richards ( who
turned down dinner with Catherine!- his wife) but
weakened by the absence of Bob Williams after a record
run of consecutive appearances.
The game started brightly
for dsw fc: they played the better football and created
the clearer chances. Half way through the first half
David Dodd pushed forward and running on to a through
ball lashed the ball home - inexplicably the referee
ruled David had strayed into the penalty box. There were
few chances for Dalai Llamas but a quickly taken corner
kick put them 1 - 0 ahead just before half time. The
corner was played back towards his own goal by James Dow
- unfortunately for dsw fc, Paul Richards was moving
forward and the ball agonisingly rolled in next to the
post. spookily foretelling Gary Neville and Paul
Robinson's demise only 24 hours later.
dsw fc still played good
football and still looked the more likely to score -
until Andy Dodd went for a Djimi award casually back
passing to a Llama striker - fortunately his shot was
well saved. dsw fc still pressed forward to create
chances - but to no avail.
The final score 1 - 0
still leaves dsw fc without a Premiership point.
