A close game
with the points shared between two closely matched
teams. dsw fc still left the game frustrated with the
knowledge that they had been robbed by a very poor
refereeing decision.
dsw fc had taken
the lead with an excellent finish from David Dodd
following good build up play involving Adam Dow and Mark
Watts. Polar Ford were never out of the game and
controversially equalised just before half time: Paul
Richards saved again for dsw fc the ball bounced up and
was shepherded back into the area by Bob Williams.;
whilst Bob waited on the edge of the area the Polar Ford
striker stepped into the area to take the ball and
squares the ball to his team-mate who scored. Despite
the vehement protests of dsw fc the goal stood.
The second half
was close and tetchy with Mark Watts testing the
referee’s patience with a “clearance” after the whistle
which sailed out of the Broomfield’s stadium.
dsw fc pressed
on and midway through the second half Adam Dow turned
his defender a full 20 yards from goal and unleashed a
screamer into the bottom right corner. 2 -1.
dsw fc stayed in
charge with Bob Williams Mark Watts and James Dow
pressing the opposition and “Reliable Richards” bailing
the team out whenever defence was breached. In the final
minute ABC pressed again the ball was cleared out by
James Dow to the half way line and despatched back
towards the dsw fc goal like an exocet missile: a
fantastic strike worthy of a point.
A close game
between two committed teams: a draw was probably a fair
result-: but it didn’t seem fair to dsw fc who lost
their 100% record. |
