As the season draws to a
close the only remaining question is will dsw fc go up
as champions or runners up. On a famous evening at
Sankey dsw fc secured all 3 points with a comfortable
and convincing victory over Grappenhall. Will the team
go one better next week and secure their first
silverware?
The match, as always with
Grappenhall was closely contested for most of the first
half, until Bob Williams, curved his shot Brazilian like
into the Grappenhall goal just before half time. a shot
so spectacular it brought admiring comments from the
referee of the adjoining match.
dsw fc changed ends 1 -0
ahead. dsw fc then played their best football keeping
the ball and probing continually at the massed mass of
the Grappenhall defence. dsw fc breached the defences
shortly after half time with Neil Hulme coolly slotting
home to make it 2 - 0. Shortly afterwards Grappenhall
secured a breakaway goal, but normal service was
resumed: dsw fc probably strung 20 or so passes together
before Adam Dow' shot proved too powerful for the keeper
it rolled over the line 3-1 . The points were secure and
dsw fc now just played keep ball. A fourth goal was
added by Neil James whose surging run was finished by a
powerful shot.
Final score 4 -1. More of
the same next week and dsw fc will finish the season as
champions! |
