The
world cup was on: the sun was shining it was just like
watching Brazil: not the Nuts but dsw fc. dsw fc
probably played their best football on a very hot
evening at the Broomfield’s stadium.
The
match started evenly with the Nuts pressing forward, but
after 7 minutes the Nuts cracked as David Dodd turned up
the heat a notch with two well taken goals. The game
ended as a contest: the previously unbeaten Brazil Nuts
were then clinically roasted by a dsw fc team playing as
a team. David Dodd completed his hat-trick before half
time and he also set Neil James up for one of his s
specials: 4-0 at half time.
The
second half started with dsw fc continuing their high
pressing game led by James Dow up front, Bob Williams
and Neil James in the middle and Mark Watts at the back.
The high pressing game forced the Nuts into playing long
balls “meat and drink” to the defence with Neil, Mark
and Andy mopping up comfortably.
In the
second half Adam Dow scored a brace around a goal from
James Dow. Brazil Nuts were fortunate that dsw fc didn’t
get to double figures: the referee disallowed two goals
for dsw fc; a header by Adam ruled inside the box and a
screamer from James Dow ruled out for a free kick to dsw
fc “whatever happened to advantage”. dsw fc continued to
create chance after chance with Mark, Andy and Bob
regularly switching defence into attack.
dsw fc
played like Brazil; the passing was crisp; they kept the
ball and created numerous goal scoring opportunities
against a good team. Probably dsw fc’s finest
performance - which keeps them clear at the top of the
table. |
