Oh things looked black.
Four consecutive defeats and then within the opening
minutes dsw fc conceded a goal to PTW Wanderers. The
Wanderers were euphoric - this lead following their
first ever win against Grappenhall the week before.
Not to worry. dsw fc had
their shooting boots on - with Bob Williams and James
Dow vying to see who could miss by the furthest
distance. Eventually some football was played and Mark
Watts was put through his trusty left foot slotted
coolly into the right corner. Shortly after a roll in
from Bob Williams was flicked on to the charging Mark
Watts - the same shot the same result 2 - 1 to dsw fc.
The second half followed
with Paul Richards reduced to spectator as PTW struggled
to get the ball out of their own half. Despite this
domination dsw fc only added twice to the score: once
when Adam Dow skinned the defence for speed and
unusually for him rifled a left foot shot across the
goal into the corner; followed by a blocked rollout from
the PTW keeper which was despatched back into the net by
James Dow. More erratic shooting followed from dsw fc.
Neil James and Mark Watts shut out PTW completely. Mark
tried in vain to complete his hart-trick to no avail
The final result was 4 -
1. A comfortable victory despite the early scare.
Thankfully the losing run has finished.
