Young win on penalties)
After a goalless match which saw
Mark Watts and David Dodd go close the final referees
whistle arrived and DSW and Haden Young prepared to face
their cup destinies from the penalty spot.
After three penalties each the
score was 2 -2. The game moved on to a nail biting
sudden death phase: after two further conversions from
each team the weighty responsibility was left to Andy
Dodd, sadly his shot lacked the power and conviction to
beat the keeper.
DSW's coach was left
to defend his extraordinary decision not to allow the
players to practice penalties before the competition.
