Match Summary -DSW crack
Brazil Nuts
|
After a slow start to the new
season, the growing injury list combined with a number
of players in warm weather training led to followers
believing DSW could struggle in this fixture with the
league leaders.
The fears were unfounded, with two
debutants Franky and Schoey making an immediate impact.
The game was well balanced early on and was being played
at a leisurely pace until an electric turn and finish by
Franky put DSW into the lead.
DSW passed the ball well and
created a number of openings, a couple of which found
the car park, before a curling through ball from Brazil
left DSW flat footed. A neat finish and it was 1-1. D
Dodd was starting to look dangerous upfront and was
creating chances, eventually he had to finish one and
sure enough 2-1.
In the second half the team was now
passing the ball well, Bob the cat had struck fear in to
the opposition to such an extent that they started to
find the car park more often than DSW had early on.
However noting the lack of
candidates for the Jimmy T award, given Dow senior was
running the Costa Brava training camp, Bob changed his
mind mid throw out and neatly lobbed the ball out to the
feet of the centre forward who was luckily so surprised
that Bob managed to recover with a good save down to his
left.
With the opposition now pushing
forward DSW began to find space and a series of chances
came and went. The most surprising was David Dodd one on
one with the goal keeper electing to pass – a moment to
be savoured and unlikely to be experienced again.
DSW continued to create chances and
the game was secured by two more good finishes one each
from Frankie and David Dodd.
At the end DSW were holding the
ball well and had seen off their losing streak.
Man of the Match

A good effort and well taken goals.
