Match Summary - o2 see red |
DSW withstood some
bad tempered tackling from o2 to start their campaign on
the right note.
DSW played as a solid
defensive unit pushing David Dodd further up the pitch
and allowing Adam Dow to roam behind him. DSW certainly
looked the more solid with the welcome return of Bob
Williams and his sister Stephen Williams both of whom
impressed themselves as well as their team mates.
At first it was all
o2 who approached the game with a positive attitude and
some very neat football. o2 took the lead early in the
first half and nearly extended it , but their second
effort was disallowed for an infringement in the penalty
area.
DSW rallied with Mark
Watts, Andy Dodd and Neal James combining well before
the scores were levelled through David Dodd. In the
second half a long punt by Bob Williams bounced twice in
front of the galloping Andy Dodd who lashed the ball in
to give DSW an unexpected lead.
o2 upped their
commitment and started to lose the plot, elbows were
raised and their misery was compounded when David Dodd
and Adam Dow combined excellently to present Adam with
DSW's third goal. o2 now lost the plot. David Dodd was
elbowed once by an o2 defender and elbowed again for
good measure - a straight red card in the closing
minutes.
o2 were the more skilful team but
they were undone by a DSW side who played as a team.
